The value and cost-effectiveness of screening for left ventricular (LV) dysfunction remains unclear, particularly since specific, evidence-based treatments are not available for the majority of patients with preserved systolic dysfunction, reports a study in the June issue of the Journal of Cardiac Failure.

Connection between erectile dysfunction and coronary disease

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine say preliminary results of a small study show promise in improving erectile dysfunction  in men who had shown minimal reaction to Viagra. The study results are published in the March issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

Erectile dysfunction is often a sign of a more severe vascular problem that involves abnormalities in the lining of the blood vessels. And often, endothelial dysfunction is an underlying problem for erectile dysfunction - it can be one of the first signs of atherosclerosis, a build-up of plaque and blockages
